Societe Generale brings its businesses under one roof in the heart of Geneva: rue du Rhône 8

Societe Generale, which has been present in Switzerland since 1897, has today inaugurated its new address in Geneva at rue du Rhône 8. The Group has signed a renewable 10-year lease.

These new premises provide the teams with a modern and ergonomic working environment, featuring spaces for interaction, innovation and relaxation on every floor, with numerous areas designated for collaborative working. The bank’s clients are welcomed on a dedicated floor where designer furniture sits alongside works from Societe Generale’s contemporary art collection.

Bringing together all the Geneva-based teams of Societe Generale Private Banking Switzerland (SGPB Suisse SA) and Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) under the same roof, a total of nearly 400 people who were previously spread over five different sites, will enable the bank to develop further synergies between the two businesses. As a major universal banking group with a strong and solid financial base, Societe Generale offers its clients a comprehensive range of services, tailor-made solutions and expert advice.

Yves Thieffry, the Group’s Country Head and CEO of SGPB (Suisse) SA, says: “By establishing itself at this single address, Societe Generale is demonstrating its strong commitment to Switzerland, one of Europe’s leading financial centres. The Group is continuing its development strategy for the country, focusing its strengths around its two commercial hubs in Geneva and Zurich, and, for the private bank, its back-office in Lausanne.”
